This week, Outer Reef Yachts circulated the first photos of their new 780 Adventure expedition yacht that is in the fitting-out stage at the Dutch shipyard where it is being built.
Last September, when Outer Reef’s CEO and President Jeff Druek announced his company’s merger with the high respect Dutch builder Lynx Yachts, he noted, “Expanding our presence in the Netherlands and integrating the highly regarded Lynx Yachts management team into our operations marks a significant milestone for Outer Reef Yachts. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and quality, enabling us to meet the growing demand for adventure yachting across Europe, the United States, Australia, and beyond.”
A key part of the merger announcement was the introduction of the first new design that the new company, operating as Outer Reef Yacht Netherlands, would build–the 78-foot 780 Adventure, which is shown. in a rendering above. As you can see in the photos, the hull and superstructure are complete, and the interior fitting out process is well along.
The 780 Adventure was conceived as an expedition yacht with a large range and the strength to weather all climates and conditions from the Mediterranean Sea to the frigid wastes of the Arctic and beyond. Built of steel, the hull is massively strong and with advanced stabilizing technology will be stable and comfortable even in challenging conditions.

The high-volume hull has ample space for all the fuel, equipment and systems needed for long-range cruising. Plus, with its wide stern platform, the 780 offers excellent access to the sea for enjoying water sports and activities like SCUBA and jet skiing.
The 780 Adventure will debut at the fall boats shows in Europe and is sure to attract eager crowds of would be and one-day adventure cruisers.
