On April 16, 20 Nordhavns and their owners gathered in George Town, Great Exuma in the Bahamas for three days of fun, sun and socializing.  The rendezvous kicked off with a welcome party at the famous Peace & Plenty Hotel where there was a live band and cocktails for all.

Next day, the group went on a dinghy adventure to explore the beautiful white sand beaches around the sound and Queen Elixabeth Harbour.

The highlight of the three day get-together had to be the costume party on Friday night night hosted by the Exuma Yacht club. The owners did not hold back and decked themselves out in an array of maritime-themed costumes running the gamut from Jaws to sea buoys to exotic sea creatures and more.

On Saturday, one of the owners organized a volunteer beach clean-up mission. Eight of the crews and several Nordhavn staff took part and filled several large trash bags with flotsam and jetsam that had washed up on the beeches.

The final send-off party was once again back at the Peace and Plenty where the 20 crews dined by the pool and had a chance to connect with all of their new and fast-made friends in the Nordhavn family.

Nordhavn Marketing Director Jenny Stern commented to Cruising Odyssey, “Our owners like to get out and go cruising. They enjoy each other and discovering new cruising grounds together. They are a very active group.”

Nordhavn is throwing three more events in 2026 for their owners. In August there will be the first-ever Whiskey Run in Scotland and already nine boats have signed up.  The Run will start in Oban on August 13 and will finish in Tobermory. Along the way the group will have the opportunity to sample some of Scotland’s finest single-malt whiskies.

In September the Nordhavn family will gather in Everett, Washington for a Nordhavn Rendezvous. This will be the fifth year in the same location. The event is run by three Nordhavn owners with the company’s support and as of this week 54 boats have committed to being there and an additional 12 owner will join the party without their boats.

Jenny Stern noted that “One of the main attractions of the rendezvous is the series of educational and entertaining seminars. It’s a great way for people to mix together and learn from experts.”

Last but hardly least, in November a fleet of Nordhavns will gather in Ensenada, Mexico for the start of the third annual Taco Run.  This nearly 1,000-mile event is designed to get owners out there cruising and learning the ropes in a foreign country.  The Taco Run is loosely organized with set stops along the way for get togethers and then a final party at the end.

“An event like the Taco Run,” Stern said, “is a great way for new cruisers to meet and spend time with more experienced boat owners.  Last year, two new-to-cruising crews gained so much confidence that they decided to head across the South Pacific to French Polynesia and beyond. That’s what Nordhavns are designed and built for.”
