The Solara brand was introduced by Fluid Motion nearly a decade ago and has proven to be a real hit with America’s performance cruiser aficionados. Built. In the U.S. by the builder of Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats, the Solara style is that of a classic American sport cruiser. The B in its name standes for the flybridge, a feature seldom seen on boats that are only 31-feet long.
The builder likes to emphasize that the 310 SB is a multi-purpose boat. It can take you offshore for sport fishing, it can run the family to the beach for an afternoon of fun in the sun, and it can pack up and take a couple cruising for days on end.
It is surprising complete. The flybridge has seats for four or five so will be a fun social area. The cockpit will be roomy enough for fishing or lounging in forward and aft facing bench settees. The salon is compact but has a dinette for four adults, a full galley and plenty of cabinetry for stowing supplies.
The sleeping cabin below decks has a double V-berth and an enclosed head and shower. There is storage for clothing and personal supplies and if you and you partner don’t might somewhat tight quarters this will be comfortable for days on end of coastal cruising.
The Solara concept from the start was to offer a fully fitted out product that was turnkey and ready to go from day one. There are options but all essential and commonly used gear and equipment are supplied in the base price. This makes life simple for a new buyer.
Items like air conditioning and heat, a 3,000-watt inverter, lithium batteries, a micro waver/convection oven and stove top, all marine electronics (except radar) and the complete Yamaha Helm Master joystick system are included. Plus, the builder includes a flat screen TV, a Fusion sound system and a wine cooler.
The twin 300-horsepower Yamaha outboards will give the 310 sparkling performance and the modified V-shaped hull shape with deflector ribs and automatic trim tabs provide a soft ride and a boat that rises easily onto a plane.
The 310 SB is a handsome pocket cruiser that punches well about its weight. It is remarkably complete and does the whole range of boating activities well. It would be a welcome addition to any family.
