There certainly is something special about the new Sunreef Ultima 88 mega power cats that appeals to a very select group of elite sportsmen. Since tennis legend Rafa Nadal ordered one three years ago, tennis champion Carlos Alcaraz and Formula One drivers Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg have bought one. Messi is next in line.

The model is the apex of the Ultima line and was first introduced in 2023. Hull number one was launched last April and in addition to the sporting elites there are several 88 hulls in build.
Messi intends to place his 88 in the charter fleet he is building in the Med under the banner MIM Charters. The fleet already has seeral smaller Bali cats so the 88 will be a real outlier.
Mesi intends to use the boat himself when time allows. “Sunreef Yachts have the style and features I really like, and they’re a perfect fit for what I’m looking for,” Messi adds. “I’m really looking forward to experiencing the Ultima 88 and enjoying it with my family.”
The big cat can accommodate the footballer and huis family. It features a full beam master cabin plus four guest cabins all finely finish in lux style by the Polish builder.
With expansive exterior decks, the flybridge lounge and the huge beach-front patio at the stern, the 88 provides many social spaces for lounge, sunning, entertaining or enjoying water sports. There is even a Jet Ski garage built into the sterns that can accommodate multiple WaveRunners.
