New Aquila Flagship: Luxurious, Spacious 48-foot Power Cat

The new flagship of the Aquila power catamaran fleet, the Aquila 48 offers a combination of space, luxury, performance and easy living, whether you’re on an ocean cruise or a charter vacation.

Designed from the start as a powerboat, the Aquila 48 comes in two versions: one with three cabins and three heads, or the other with four cabins and four heads. In the three-cabin arrangement, privacy is assured, with the owner’s stateroom taking up the entire port hull, with a large en suite head and shower, while two matching guest cabins are in the starboard hull, each with its own head and shower.

With a 23-foot beam, the salon is enormous and bright, with windows all around. The galley has everything, even a grill; a dinette is forward. There are covered outside seating areas both forward and aft. And the Aquila 48 is an easy and safe boat to move around in. Five separate staircases lead up to the flybridge, which is built for entertaining with a dining area, barbeque and wet bar.

Aquila was started in 2012 as a collaboration between MarineMax, the world’s largest boat dealer, and the Sino Eagle Group. Their first boat was an Aquila 38 cat for the MarineMax charter business in the British Virgin Islands. Aquila just built its 100th power cat at the Sino Eagle Group factory in China.

Aquilas can be purchased individually; they also are the exclusive boats in the MarineMax Vacations charter fleet, which now runs from 36 to 48 feet.

Standard power for the new Aquila 48 is two 225-hp Volvo D4 diesels; options are 330-hp Volvo D4s, or 370-hp Volvo D4s.
