New Low-Profile, Beautiful Vicem 58 Classic To Debut at Lauderdale Show

Vicem, the Turkish builder that produces Downeast-style boats, is introducing a new 58 Classic at the Fort Lauderdale show. The new low-profile 58 is made with Vicem’s trademark cold-molded mahogany to provide a strong, smooth and quiet ride, and it has Vicem’s long, graceful sheerline and eye-catching tumblehome aft. The 58 is a larger and newer version of Vicem’s popular 52, but its 16’7” beam provides more elbow room and the 58 has enough room for what the company calls an Open Galley below, with a generous eight-feet of headroom and a large amount of entertaining space all around. Report from Palm Beach: “The Best of the Season.” Traditionally, the Palm Beach boat show is a buyer’s show; a lot of people, so the thinking goes, look at the Miami shows, but then a month later they actually buy in Palm Beach. New Vicem Classic 46IPS, A Company First in Fiberglass and Epoxy, Launched at Palm Beach Show. Plus Video.

Vicem Yachts, the Turkish builder that’s been specializing in using marine mahogany in the cold-molded construction process since 1991, just introduced its first fiberglass/epoxy model, the Vicem Classic 46IPS, at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. And, no surprise, it’s a beauty, both outside and in. The joinerwork is simply elegant. Designed by Vicem’s in-house team, the boat carries classic Downeast lines that just as easily could have been drawn in Southwest Harbor, Maine.  The Classic 46IPS is powered by two 435-hp Volvo IPS 600s, offering joystick control and pod drives for easy maneuvering around the docks and greater fuel…
