Dream Yacht Charter has just opened a new base serving the Exumas at Palm Cay Marina in Nassau in partnership with Navtours. One of the best cruising grounds in the world, the Exumas, just 30 miles from Nassau, are made up of 365 cays and include secluded anchorages, unspoiled beaches and world-famous dive spots.

For an ideal bareboat cruising vacation, the Dream Yacht Charter fleet includes a Lagoon 40 Power Cat. Some highlights might include the natural beauty of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park at Warderick Wells, where you can explore some of the world’s oldest stromatolite reefs; or you can swim with the nurse sharks at Compass Cay, feed the pigs (yes, they’re back) at Big Major Cay, or check out the iguanas at Alan Cay.

If you want to play James Bond, dive at the Thunderball Grotto near Staniel Cay. If you want to live out the Miami Vice days, head for Norman’s Cay, the former hideout of Carlos Lehder, a founder of the Medellín cartel who’s now in jail in the U.S. (Walter Cronkite was once turned away from Norman’s Cay at gunpoint when he approached, innocently, on his sailboat.) The wreck of a drug plane is in the water there; it’s now a popular dive spot.

Back at the Dream Charter base in Nassau, the Palm Cay Marina is a five-star facility, with a beach club, pools, tennis courts, restaurants and free paddle boards and kayaks. Read more:
