The Best Beaches in the World to Visit by Boat, from the Seychelles to the Hard-to-Reach Hidden Beach in Mexico

Where to go next? Finding new destinations is always a problem. How about heading for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, accessible by boat? Just drop the hook, take the dink ashore and soak up vistas from the sugar-white sands of the Caribbean, the cobalt-blue waters of the Med, or the history-laden tropics of the Yucatan. Here’s a short list from OceanScape Yachts to help you find your way.

For a tranquil beach paradise, take a look at Playa de Flamenco beach, pictured above, in what was called the Passage Islands of Puerto Rico and is now considered the Spanish Virgin Islands. Once a military training ground, the area is now a paradise of deserted beaches and sleepy coastal villages. With its white sand, green palms and endless blue sea and sky, Playa de Flamenco is often voted the best beach in the world.

Farther afield, you can swim in the shadow of boulders and jungle palms at Anse Source d’Argent on La Digue Island in the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. The water is warm and shallow, and you can feel as if you’re a world away from your everyday worries and cares.

But if you like more company, head for Pampellone Beach at St. Tropez and enjoy one of the prettiest vistas on the Riviera. In the heart of summer, you’ll find a series of beach clubs, including Club 55, made popular by Brigitte Bardot. But if you wait for the shoulder season, you’ll be able to enjoy the same views without all the super models – and super yachts.

In Mexico, El Castillo Beach on the Yucatan is beautiful and offers a sense of history, with the pyramids of the ancient Mayan civilization rising up behind it. On the Pacific coast, you can swim through a tunnel to Hidden Beach on the Marieta Islands. For other beaches, read more:
