Vicem, the high-end Turkish builder, is starting work on a new long-range, cold-molded, three-stateroom, three-head 67 Cruiser that it will introduce at the Newport International Boat Show in September. The Vicem 67 Cruiser will have twin 600-hp Volvo diesels with a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top speed of 22 knots.

Vicem says the new 67 is designed for the way cruising people live today, with a series of social spaces throughout the boat. The flybridge, protected by a hardtop, holds the upper helm, a forward-facing companion seat, a U-shaped settee and a galley.

The salon has a formal dining area with seating for six on the port side, opposite the fully equipped galley that can be  open or closed off, depending on the owner’s wishes. The salon also has facing settees to port and starboard, and the lower helm, with a door opening to the starboard side deck. Sliding glass doors open to the cockpit to create a large indoor/outdoor space.

The cockpit, protected by the overhang from the boat deck above, has a wide transom settee and large table for al fresco dining by eight people, while the foredeck has a large sun pad on the cabin trunk plus a forward-facing settee at the bow.

With the 67 Cruiser, Vicem is offering a European Delivery Option. After the survey and sea trial, the new owner can take the boat on a cruise of the Turkish coast and islands and the Greek islands for a week or two. He then returns it to the yard, which loads it on a ship for delivery to its new home port.

Vicem uses its cold-molding system to produce a lighter and stronger boat than would be possible with traditional fiberglass construction. It uses cold-molded mahogany with West System epoxy in the hull. The decks, superstructure and housetop are cold-molded plywood, sheathed with one ply of E-glass biaxial fabric with epoxy coating and lamination. The interior uses Vicem’s signature book-matched veneers and craftsmanship.

The accommodations deck has three staterooms. Both the forward and midships masters cabins have king-size beds; a guest stateroom has a double bed. The three heads have wood-framed, tempered glass shower doors and quartz counters. And there is storage space throughout for long stays on board. In addition, there are crew quarters aft for two people, with its own galley, head with separate shower and laundry facilities.

The company designed the new 67 as a long-range cruiser. Vicem says it has a range of 1,550 nm at 18 knots, and 3,850 nm at 10 knots.
