The Wave Marine M880 from Nauti-Tech, a remote that fits in your hand, controls your boat’s engines, thrusters and other devices, and it’s built to work with everything from small boats or superyachts. So far, it’s offered as standard equipment on the Westport 125 and on Grand Banks and Palm Beach Motor Yachts.
The company says the Wave Marine M880 is the most powerful remote available; it can control a boat from up to 492 feet away – that’s a distance equal to the length of an entire football field plus the end zone plus out into the parking lot. You can use it anywhere on your boat to help you dock, anchor or maneuver tricky passages. It has 16 channels for failsafe operation, and an encrypted code to guarantee that the signal is connected to the correct yacht when multiple units are in use in the same area. It uses radio frequency for reliability.
Beyond the engines, the Wave Marine M880 will control such accessories as swim platforms, sunroofs, anchor windlasses and garage doors. It’s ergonomic and easy to use and weighs only 12 ounces. It runs on lithium-ion batteries, and has LED backlighting for use at night.
