New Cruisers Cantius 46: Easy Cruising, Easy Entertaining

The new Cruisers Cantius 46, the latest in the Wisconsin builder’s coupe series, makes cruising comfortable and easy. It’s a two-stateroom, two-head cruiser with a 31-knot top speed, and it’s designed to be used by a couple or a family and it invites entertaining, either underway or at the dock.

One of the major social features of this new Cruisers is the grill station under a hatch in the transom. It’s meant to be used from the wide, hydraulic swim platform, and it has an electric grill and fridge, serving as an al fresco barbecue station. The cockpit itself has an L-shaped settee with a table, a shower, and a stainless steel gate to the transom.

Wide doors open to the salon, all on the same level. The real galley, as opposed to the transom barbecue, is all the way aft on the port side, so that it serves both the cockpit and the salon. The new Cantius 46 has aggressive contemporary styling, inside and out. The white upholstery in the salon is created in-house by Cruisers. The salon has opening side windows, a sunroof and a large windshield forward so there’s lots of natural light.

A wide bolster seat as at the helm, facing two 12-inch Garmin displays. A Volvo joystick makes maneuvering around the dock fingertip easy. Two long settees are opposite each other; the lounge on the port side is up two steps so that passengers there have a better view looking forward.

Below, the full-beam master stateroom is amidships, with a queen berth, soft lighting, a credenza to port and a settee to starboard, a hanging locker, and a concealed washer/dryer. Oversized hull windows let in lots of natural light, and the en suite head has a stall shower. The VIP guest stateroom is forward, with a queen berth and private access to the day head.

Another social area is on the foredeck with a seating/lounging area. Powered by twin Volvo 435-hp IPS600 pod drives, the Cantius 46 cruises easily in the mid-20-knot range.
