Largest Owners’ Rendezvous in World for Ranger and Cutwater

Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats just held the largest owners’ rendezvous in the world, with about 220 boats and 500 people at the Roche Harbor Marina and Resort in the San Juans. Many Ranger and Cutwater owners regard the annual three-day rendezvous as a highlight in their cruising year.

This year the rendezvous, as usual, was filled with fun events, although I’ve found that it’s hard not to have fun at Roche Harbor, which is on the northern tip of San Juan Island about 100 miles above Seattle; it’s one of the most inviting cruising destinations in the Pacific Northwest, if not beyond.

New this year was Ranger’s just-launched flagship 41 CB, a major move up for the company. But during the three days owners were able to climb on other boats throughout the Ranger and Cutwater fleets.

The rendezvous was filled with social events (parties, dinners, happy hours, dances), including a Pirates of the Caribbean costume party. There was a scavenger hunt, plus a crabbing and fishing derby.

But there were also a series of seminars from Volvo Penta, Yamaha outboards and others on engines, boat maintenance, weather forecasting, insurance, first aid and VHF best practices. The Coast Guard organized voluntary boat safety checks.

Ranger and Cutwater, both under the umbrella of Fluid Motion LLC in Kent, Washington, specialize in owners’ events. They hold a series of factory visits, cruises and other events throughout the year aimed at making boating fun for their owners. Read more:
