Used 213-Foot Cruising Boat For Sale: $250,000

Looking for a well-found cruising boat you can take anywhere in the world? Consider the USCGC Acushnet, a retired Navy rescue boat and Coast Guard Cutter. It’s for sale in Anacortes, Washington, for $250,000, and it’s hard to find another 213-foot cruiser with four working diesels for that price.

You may have a hard time fitting the Acushnet into your slip, paying the fuel bill (it takes 191,000 gallons), or finding enough friends to fill the 80 berths on board. And forget about the Bahamas; it has a 19-foot draft. But it’s certainly sea-worthy, and it’s guaranteed to turn heads in any harbor.

The Acushnet does have some miles under her keel. It was built in 1943 for the Navy in the middle of the Second World War, and then turned over to the Coast Guard as a cutter; it was retired in 2011. The four Fairbanks-Morse engines have 55,000 hours, according to Pacific Yacht Brokers, which have the listing, and they all fire up. The ship, made of all-welded steel, cruises at 15 knots.

As extras, the Acushnet comes with towing gear, two deck cranes, and two Zodiac Hurricane tenders with diesel outdrives. Plus a commercial galley, walk-in freezers, a hospital, theater, laundry, and watermakers.

Specs.: LOA: 213’; Beam: 39’; Draft: 19’; Disp.; NA; Fuel: 191,000 gals.; Water: 36,500 gals.; Power: 4×675-hp Fairbanks-Morse diesels.
