The Elada EX 87, the first model in a new brand from the Lazzara Yacht Group, is indeed something new and different. It’s part of a new generation of UHV (ultra-high-volume) cruisers, with what the company calls disruptive design features promising more space, comfort, and stability on long voyages, with the possibility of a high degree of customization for future owners.

Now under construction, the Elada 87 is scheduled to be launched this summer. An Elada EX 118 will follow. Powered by standard twin 720-hp Volvo diesels, the 87 has a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 16 knots. Twin 1,000-hp Volvos are optional.

True to its promise, the 87 has four large staterooms plus two more aft for crew. The master is forward on the main deck, with large windows for lots of natural light and the possibility of incredible views. It has a king-sized bed with an upholstered headboard, a desk, twin seating areas and lounge space. The master head is a private bath suite, with a marble countertop, twin sinks and a shower with a glass enclosure.

Moving aft on that deck, the galley is large enough to serve the eight guests and crew on board for a long cruise. The formal dining area has seating for eight under chandelier lighting. Sliding doors next to the dining table look out to the starboard side through a glass bulwark. Farther aft in the salon, the major social area has a large sofa and a matching love seat facing a large-screen TV and entertainment area.

Up top, the skylounge has a bar seating eight with floor-to-ceiling windows, a game table seating six that faces a movie screen, and a day head. The aft flybridge has a settee, a bar/grill and an optional Jacuzzi. An automated awing system provides protection from the sun.

The wheelhouse has an elevated lounge area aft of the helm providing unobstructed views forward for guests. It is forward of the upper salon, with doors port and starboard for access to the foredeck.

A sun pad, a crescent-shaped seating area, and a settee on the foredeck provide another social area. They have integrated pop-up LED lighting.

On the accommodations deck below, the VIP stateroom is in the bow with a queen-sized bed, a desk, large windows and exotic-wood cabinetry, with an en suite and shower. The twin guest staterooms a bit aft each have a desk, a private head and shower, and either a double or two twin beds.

Specs.: LOA: 87’0”; Beam: 23’6”; Draft: 5’3”; Disp.: 253,531 lbs.; Fuel: 3,082 gals.;  Water: 528 gals.; Power: 2×720-hp Volvo Penta diesels.
