New: Lambo-Inspired, A88 Gransport Fast Cruiser

If you like fast cars and fast boats, take a look at the latest design from Milan’s Officina Armare Studio – the sleek, head-turning A88 Gransport cruiser that brings to mind many of the design elements in today’s cutting-edge hyper-cars, such as the Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder, pictured above.

Powered by twin 2,600-hp MTU diesels, the four-stateroom, 88-foot A88 tops out at 46 mph. The two-seat Lambo, with a 640-hp engine, tops out at 202 mph. But then its base price is just $287,400, which is probably less than the A88’s fuel bill for a season.

But there’s no question the A88 will stand out in a crowd. Its muscular, aerodynamic profile, powerful entry and aft curves are not dissimilar from those of the Lambo. The oversized glass panels forward, the coupe-like hardtop, the overwater exhaust, the four carbon-fiber spoilers at the stern and the lateral carbon-fiber wings (with nav lights) on each side all share design cues with the leading Euro hyper-cars. The A88 also has several air intakes for maximum flow, and its gray stern, with teak and carbon-fiber accents, adds an elegant touch.

Under the skin, the A88 Gransport is a luxurious cruising yacht. It can hold a pair of Seabob underwater scooters and a Williams SportJet 435 tender in its garage. The large aft deck has sun pads, a leather sofa, and an alfresco dining area. The foredeck has two large sun pads and a Bimini.

Below, the full-beam master stateroom is amidships, with a king-sized bed, a lounging area, and an en suite head with a sit-down shower. A matching VIP cabin is forward, and two twin cabins are between them. An owner, of course, can reconfigure all this to meet his own wishes.

Last year, Officina Armare designed an A43, a 43-foot open speedboat inspired by Lamborghini’s Centenario Roadster. (The Roadster’s base price: $2.4 million.) Who knows what Officina Armare will think of next. Read more:
