Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats have started a series of live weekly webinars aimed at helping their owners learn more about their boats during the coronavirus crisis. So far, the webinars, called As the Prop Turns, cover everything from spring maintenance to how to use the boats’ Garmin multifunction display.

Hosted by the Ranger and Cutwater customer service teams, the webinars are hosted on Zoom and are free to everyone. You can sign up for them on the link below; you don’t have to purchase anything from Zoom or open an account. You will not be on camera or on a microphone during the webinars, but you can type in questions during and after the presentation. Each installment is uploaded to YouTube after the broadcast, so you can see any that you missed at any time.

The headquarters for Fluid Motion, the parent company for Ranger and Cutwater, are just outside Seattle. The webinars are held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Pacific time, or 1 p.m. Eastern. Each one lasts from 30 to 60 minutes.

To date, the webinars have included Garmin 101, an entry-level overview of the settings and features on a Garmin MFD; Power Management, a look at the boats’ on-board electrical systems; Spring Maintenance Part 1, answering the most common questions, including those about the boats’ Webasto diesel heater, and fuel-filter service for a Volvo diesel inboard and a Yamaha outboard; Spring Maintenance Part 2, dealing with surface care, including gelcoat repair and metal protection.

Over the years, Fluid Motion has earned a reputation for creating an active community among its owners, with rendezvous, factory tours and special events. It says it created the interactive webinar series “to keep our boating community engaged and informed during these trying times and to bring our associates and our owners together.” Read more:
