Crewsaver, the well-established British supplier of marine safety and survival equipment, is entering the inflatable boat market. Part of Survitec, with a 60-year history, Crewsaver just announced that it is making three sizes of small inflatables, suitable for the tender or stand-alone boat market.

“Survitec is well recognized as a leading rescue boat supplier to the commercial marine and defense industries,” said Matt Bridge, commercial director of Survitec. “As such, we are well positioned to transfer these  technologies into an inflatable boat range for the leisure industry, helping to ensure a design and build quality that our customers can trust and rely on.”

The new inflatables are lightweight and easy to inflate; they come with either a slatted or inflated deck, and they can be rolled up and stowed in a lazarette or fit into a Crewsaver carrying case.

The boats are roughly from 6′ 6″ to 8′ 6″ long, weigh from 17 to 32 pounds, and the laminated solid transom  can hold an outboard from 3.5- to 5.26-hp. Most can carry two people, although the Crewsaver Air 260 can hold three, with a maximum weight of 400 pounds. The transom can be fixed to stern davits with integral davit eyes and a ring. Stainless steel lifting points on the outside of the bow are built in for towing.

Each boat comes with a high-capacity pump, repair kit, two paddles, mooring lines, sliding alloy seat, and the carrying case. The boats have a two-year warranty.

Based in Hampshire, Crewsaver supplies the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, among other agencies. Read more:
