Maritimo, the highly regarded Australian builder, just announced that they’re planning an M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht that will be launched early next year.

The luxurious new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht is the latest iteration of the company’s first motor yacht, the Maritimo 60, launched in 2004. It was then selected as Cruiser of the Year and Australian Boat of the Year. “It has since gone on to earn a reputation as a standout blue-water cruiser with diehard following,” said Tom Barry-Cotter, Maritimo’s design director.

The new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht provides luxurious living on board with the company’s fabled blue-water cruising capability. Standard power comes from twin 800-hp Volvo D13s with straight shafts set at an 8-degree angle for super efficiency and relatively low draft. (Twin 1,000-hp Volvo and 1,150-hp Scania diesels are upgrades.)

The boat carries 1,200 gallons of fuel so owners can reach secluded destinations. The three tanks are designed to lower the boat’s center of gravity and increase stability. Two wing tanks on the sides flank the main tank located along the keel line. Refueling can take  place through a single filler on either side.

Maritimo not only tests its hulls offshore, but also on the Australian racing circuit. It knows what works. The M60 has a variable deadrise hull with a deep keel, sharp bow and a flattened progression going aft for offshore cruising performance, stability and comfort.

For luxury, the M60’s climate-controlled flybridge skylounge can be reached via an internal staircase, for comfort and offshore safety. It has a pair of distinct lounging areas; a forward cruising lounge and an aft TV lounge, which can be converted to an additional sleeping berth. (The boat has three staterooms with two heads below.) An aft balcony provides more space up top.

Maritimo says its owners spend most of their time in the cockpit and aft deck when they anchor out, so the new M60 has an expansive upper cockpit, with three separate lounge areas and immediate access to the galley aft in the salon. Then there’s what the company calls an adventure deck just a step down with a rear entertainment module housing a sink, barbeque and fridge. Push a button and electric actuators uncover the largest garage on a Maritimo to date, with room for a 10’ 3” tender, or additional water toys.

Below, the master stateroom is full-beam amidships with panoramic hull windows. The VIP cabin is forward, with an offset queen berth to provide walking-around room without having to navigate any steps. The guest stateroom is on the starboard side, with an inner bed that can slide out to create a double.
