New Beneteau Antares 11 Flybridge: An Outboard Flagship

The flagship of Beneteau’s outboard-powered Antares fleet, the new Antares 11 Flybridge is a family cruiser designed for comfort and easy times on the water. It follows the success of a coupe version of the Antares 11, and offers more space up top with the flybridge.

The Antares 11 Flybridge is powered by twin 300-hp Mercury four-stroke outboards, which give it a 40-knot top speed. That’s certainly a more than respectable top end, but this boat isn’t meant to be a speedster. You also can order it with twin 250-hp outboards for family cruising.

The flybridge blends into the boat’s profile. It has a starboard helm station, two seats facing each other on the port side, and a large sun pad aft. Options include a Bimini and solar panels.

The boat can hold 11 people, so you don’t have to leave anybody back at the dock. A large sunbathing area is on the foredeck, with an optional canopy. But the real social area is aft, in the cockpit that opens to a light-filled salon.

In the cockpit, an L-shaped settee is across the transom and up the port side, and it links seamlessly with a settee on the port side of the salon. A panel on the starboard side of the cockpit folds out, to provide access to the water or a diving platform. A gate on the starboard side of the transom leads to the swim platform, while the overhang from the flybridge offers protection from the elements overhead.

In the salon, the captain faces the helm in a contoured seat, and a sliding door opens to the starboard side deck. The galley is aft of the helm; a settee on the port side faces a table seating four.

Below, the master cabin is forward with a walkaround berth and an en suite head and shower. The second cabin is full-beam amidships, with a double bed on the port side and a single bed to starboard.
