HMY Yachts just announced that they will introduce the new luxurious Two Oceans 555 Power Catamaran, made in South Africa, to the American market next year. The new 555 has a four-cabin layout, with the master stateroom on the main deck with a door opening to a sunken lounge on the foredeck.

Founded in 1989, Two Oceans specializes in blue-water, comfortable and safe power and sail cruising catamarans. The power cat range incudes a 75, 82 and 87. The new 555 models are the company’s entry-level cats.

But there is nothing small about them. Designed by Du Toit Yacht Design in South Africa, they are meant to be like a luxurious home on the water, but a home that can cruise around the world if that’s what the owners want to do.

Forward of the salon on the main deck, the master stateroom has a king-sized, walk-around bed, nightstands, full-height closets, a dressing area, and an en suite head and shower. You can walk out to the foredeck lounge with a U-shaped seating area and a composite table. With the cat’s 25-foot beam, you could hold a party up there.

The salon itself can have a helm and bar forward and it has stairs to the three staterooms below.  Each one has a queen berth and en suite head and shower. The galley is up in the salon, with an island countertop, four-burner cooktop, convection microwave, fridge/freezer and double sinks.

A dining area is to port, with U-shaped seating for six around the table. A sliding door opens to the large aft deck, which is protected from the weather by the overhang from the fly bridge. The aft deck has a large table with seating and lounging areas.

At the stern, stairs on both sides lead down to the swim platform. The center of the platform can be lowered for easy access to the water.

Up top, the centerline helm station on the fly bridge has a stainless steel wheel with power assist. The fly bridge is protected by a hardtop with eight solar panels on top. A sun lounge is forward.

The fly bridge has an L-shaped seating area aft, and seating for two on the port side of the helm station and C-shaped seating with a table. There’s room for a 14-foot tender on the boat deck.

Power for the Two Oceans 555 comes from twin 370-hp Yanmar diesels. The electronics are from Garmin. HMY expects to have the boats in Florida next year.
