Vladimir Putin, Yachtsman

Vladimir Putin, 69, the former KGB Lieutenant Colonel who has been the president and prime minister of Russia since 2020, is quite a yachtsman. Indeed, Putin now owns at least four yachts, worth about $125 million. This might seem unusual for someone who says his government salary is $100,00 a year, but then Putin’s net worth is estimated to be about $40 billion.

Here’s a fun story from therichest.com and a video below about Putin’s four yachts:

The Graceful was built by Blohm and Voss in 2014 and painted in a rich hue of white. It’s 269 feet long and cost about $100 million. The yacht has six guest cabins, including a massive master suite, and seven crew cabins. It also has a 50-foot by 100-foot swimming pool that turns into a dance floor at the push of a button, plus a large helipad. Top speed is 18 knots. Annual operating costs are estimated at $5 to $10 million.

The Olympia is said to be Putin’s favorite. It’s 187 feet long and was built by Feadship in 2002. Putin is often photographed cruising with business leaders on this yacht. It has cabins for ten guests and 16 crew. The Presidential Cabin is on a separate level; it occupies about one-third the entire length of the yacht. Top speed is 16 knots, and the yacht has a range of 4,700 nm. It cost $50 million.

The Chetka, or Seagull, was built in a Turkish yard in 2009 as a luxurious explorer yacht. It’s 177 feet long and has a range of more than 4,000 nm. It cost more than $34.85 million, and it holds 12 guests and 11 crew. It also has a Jacuzzi, a gym, a beach club, a barbeque area and a swimming pool. For more fun and exploring, it carries jet skis and three RIBs. Top speed is 14 knots.

The Petrel is the smallest yacht on the list at just 115 feet. Putin is said to not use it as much as he uses the Graceful and the Olympia. It can hold 16 guests in cabins with private balconies, and 12 crew, and it has a sundeck and a Jacuzzi. The yacht cost about $16.8 million.

For his part, Putin has never apologized for enjoying his luxurious lifestyle. In 2008, the Russian Information Agency reported that he said, “I’m not ashamed before the citizens who voted for me twice. All these eight years I toiled like a galley slave, from morning to evening.” Read more at  https://www.therichest.com/luxury/a-peek-inside-vladimir-putins-125-million-dollar-yacht-collection/ and see the video here:
