Here’s some good news. MarineMax Vacations just announced that they still have some charter time available before the end of the year on their flagship 545 power catamaran in the British Virgin Islands.
There are few places that are more appealing at any time of the year for a charter than the BVI, but a holiday there, among some of the best cruising grounds in the world, would be a holiday to remember. Starting a new year there wouldn’t be too shabby either.
The MarineMax Vacations fleet is at Nanny Cay on the south side of Tortola. On the 545, you can take the whole family, or a lot of friends. The boat has five cabins and five heads, and it can hold ten people.
You can charter it as a bareboat, and do all the driving and planning yourself, or you can hire a captain and cook on a crewed charter. There’s a crew cabin with two berths and a head accessible from the cockpit for privacy.
The MarineMax 545 has space everywhere. Its 25-foot beam is almost half the length of the boat, so there’s room to spare inside and out. All the way aft, steps lead up from the swim platform (which can be lowered to the water with hydraulics) to the cockpit, with a separate dining area and indoor/outdoor bar.
In the salon, a full galley is aft, so it can serve the cockpit as well. It has a home-size fridge, induction cooktop and lots of counter space. The salon is filled with light from large tempered glass windows and has an open plan with lots of seating and lounging areas.
Up top, the flybridge is ready for more entertaining, with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area. The upper helm is protected by a hardtop. And stairs lead down to the foredeck, which is one more large lounging and sunning area.
The cat is made for the comfort. Each cabin has its own AC controls, and the queen- and king-sized beds are all six feet long.
