Pardo Launches New Endurance 60 Flagship

Pardo has lunched its Endurance 60, an aggressively styled, low-profile cruiser that’s the Italian builder’s new flagship.

With its slightly reversed bow, highly raked windshield, tinted wrap-around salon windows, graceful but broken sheerline and a flybridge that’s barely visible, the Pardo 60 has staked out a distinctive position in the cruising universe. In just the past two years, Pardo has built about 100 other cruisers, from 38 to 50 feet. The 60 represents a major move up.

But Pardo has solid roots. It’s owned by Grand Soleil, which has built more than 4,000 sailboats since it started in 1973. The growth of the Pardo line is simply a reflection of the upscale power cruising market around the world.

The Pardo Endurance 60 is meant to cruise efficiently at 10 to 12 knots, powered by twin 550-hp Volvo IPS700 pod drives. With optional 600-hp Volvo IPS800s, it is expected to top out in the mid-20-knot range.

The boat is built for cruising comfort, even on long voyages. The basic layout calls for three staterooms and three heads below, and there’s extra space inside and out. The bulwarks in the aft deck and part of the salon drop down to provide terraces on each side of the boat; they’re large enough to hold chairs and dining tables and they can be lowered to surface level.

The side decks are wide, and protected by deep bulwarks going forward. The steps leading from the cockpit up to the flybridge are deep and not too steep. The flybridge is open, with an upper helm and sun lounges, a sofa and a fridge.

The galley and bar are aft in the salon, to serve the cockpit as well. The dining and lounging areas more forward in the salon are raised so guests can enjoy  the view unfolding in front during a cruise.

Below, the master stateroom is full-beam amidships with a king-sized bed, a dressing area, a sofa, and several large wardrobes. The VIP cabin in the bow comes with either a V-berth or a double berth; and the third cabin on the port side has a twin berth. All the cabins have en suite heads.
