Silent-Yachts, the pioneering Austrian builder, is in a major growth mode. It’s launching its first Silent 60 solar/electric luxury catamaran this month (pictured above), and its rebranding itself to start new businesses – from tenders to resorts – all centered around its renewable energy theme.

In the past few years, Silent has staked out a leading position in the global electric yacht market. It now makes yachts from 60 to 120 feet. Last week, it announced that it had a record 21 orders for new boats in 2021.

Now the company is rebranding itself as well as expanding. Because of demand, it now has three global production sites, in Italy, Turkey, and Thailand. It has formed a partnership with VisionF Yachts to make hybrid yachts, and it is starting several new divisions in a major brand expansion.

The new partnership with VisionF will make hybrid catamarans in Turkey, using both conventional propulsion and renewable solar power. The first boat, the Silent VisionF 82 is already in production. With an extended hardtop, the Silent VisionF 82 has a large solar array and a powerful battery bank to provide energy to power all the ship’s appliances; owners can enjoy anchoring out in peace and quiet.

The new business expansions include Silent-Tenders, a new range of all-electric tenders, starting with one at 13 feet; Silent-Tenders will announce others later this year.

Silent-Management offers a range of management services for Silent-Yachts owners, everything from initial documentation to maintenance and servicing.

Silent-Charter will start with a charter boat fleet in Mallorca and then cover the entire world.

Silent-Brokerage will offer pre-owned vessels for sale by Silent-Yachts and its clients around the world.

Silent-Resorts will be an all-new venture involving sustainable resorts with luxurious beachfront, solar-powered homes.

“After beginning our research into solar yacht technologies in 2004, the company has evolved and expanded and last year’s sales show that we continue to grow,” said Michael Köhler, Silent-Yachts founder. “We are  now a truly international group with diverse interests requiring more extensive resources and production space.” Read more:
