U-Boat Worx, the Dutch company, just introduced the lightest personal submarine ever at its facility in Curacao. It weighs just 4,400 pounds, and you can tow it behind your truck, launch it from land, or deploy it from your yacht.

The new sub, called Nemo, comes in one- and two-person versions, and can dive down to 330 feet. The two-seater weighs 5, 510 pounds. The company says that it has the same footprint as two jet skis. The actual dimensions are 9’ 2” long, 7’ 8” wide, and 5’ 1” high.

Nemo is built to be owner-operated, so now you can play James Bond, sitting in the large transparent, acrylic sphere and maneuvering with four electric thrusters, two vertical, and two horizontal. And you’ll be comfortable. The interior is luxurious, with leather seats and black trim.

The new sub has a top speed of 3 knots, and it can stay underwater for eight hours. It has two spotlights and floodlights, and an LCD screen for navigation. You can buy an optional external camera to record all that marine life or wrecks you’re going to visit. And it has both air conditioning and heat, so you can dive in the tropics or the arctic.

The base price is a little more than $1 million for the one-seater, and $1.1 million for the two-seater.

U-Boat Worx says its already sold the first ten models,, and it’s ramping up production to meet the demand. Read more:
