Iliad Catamarans just announced that they’re making a new 53S low-profile, long-range power cat with outstanding space, economy and performance.

Founded in Australia in 2019, Iliad so far has produced a fleet of 50, 62 and 74 power cats, but they’re all flybridge models. The new 53S is a sporty looking sedan, with an air draft of just 14’ 7” so it can slide under bridges along the waterways of the world.

Iliad says the 53S comes with twin 440-hp Volvos or Yanmars, producing a top speed of 24 knots and a range of more than 3,000 nm.

The new cat has a huge forward lounge in the salon, with the helm station and a dining table seating six or eight. The entire salon is bathed in natural light from side windows and a standard large skylight. The galley is sleek and practical, with an island bench, full-sized fridge and freezer, and premium appliances.

The Iliad’s outdoor spaces are made for entertaining and relaxing, underway or at anchor. The foredeck has a forward-facing lounge, providing panoramic views or simply a private spot to relax for a morning coffee or an evening drink. It also has direct access to the salon.

Aft, the cockpit has a bar, barbeque, ice-maker, fridge, and dining table seating ten people. The optional swim platform can hold a tender and provide direct access to swimming and water sports when the tender is deployed.

The new Iliad is a semi-custom yacht, but the standard layout calls for the master stateroom to occupy one entire hull below, with an island queen bed, panoramic hull-side windows, a large en suite head, and lots of storage. The two guest cabins, both with en suite heads, occupy the other hull.

Iliad says the new 53S is priced from $1.76 million, and that includes a comprehensive list of equipment, including air conditioning, generator, bow thruster, full electronics, washer/dryer. Lithium batteries, 5,000w inverter, solar panels and an entertainment system.

Iliad Catamarans were started by Multihull Solutions in Mooloolaba, Queensland, on the Coral Sea. The boats are made in China.
