Take Everything on ROAM 35 Shadow Yacht

In case you’re worried about how to fit your dink or RIB on your boat’s swim platform for this summer’s cruise, take a look at the new ROAM 35 Shadow, a 120-foot cat that the company calls “the ultimate expedition vessel.”

With the ROAM 35, you shouldn’t have to leave any toys behind. ROAM already makes two lines of smaller shadow boats, but it designed the 35 for a client that wanted room for his 50-foot Cigarette, as well as a host of other boats and toys.

The flagship of the ROAM Shadow fleet, the 35 has a touch-and-go helipad, a high-capacity crane, and room for tenders, submarines, toys and vehicles. John Richardson, ROAM’s CEO, said with the 35 “space and range restrictions don’t apply, so this vessel ticks every box. There is pretty much nothing that it can’t take.”

An out-and-out support boat, the ROAM 35 has an aluminum hull and transatlantic range. Power comes from twin CAT C32 diesels, with a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.

The aft deck is huge, and the bulwarks fold out to provide even more deck space. A hydraulic platform aft can be raised or lowered to launch Jet Skis, tenders and a variety of water toys without having to use the Palfinger hydraulic crane.

Forward, it has a large viewing deck and socializing area. Built in Serbia, the ROAM 35 carries a crew of six, and can hold 20 people. Owners can order the accommodations to fit their needs.

ROAM has teamed up with U-Boat Worx so it can carry a two-seat NEMO submersible on its Shadow expedition yachts.
