Numarine, the Turkish builder of high-end cruisers, just announced that it’s building a new 22XP, the entry-level yacht in its expedition fleet. The 74-foot yacht is scheduled to make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

Numarine’s XP line now stretches through five models, topping out at the 147-foot XP45. The company says the new 22 is “ready to sail the seven seas in safety, serenity and freedom.”

The 22XP has three decks, three or four staterooms, a large flybridge and a light-colored, light-filled salon. Ömer Malz, the Numarine chairman, says “The 22XP has been a success from the very first design stages,” with six already sold.

The 22XP is a bit unusual in that you can order it with the standard displacement hull or with a semi-displacement hull, with various engine options. The displacement hull comes with two 425-hp Cummins diesels and a cruising range of 1,500 nm at 8 knots. The optional semi-displacement version is powered by twin 1,200-hp MAN diesels, producing a top speed of 24 knots.

Either way, the new Numarine features a modern design with large, geometric windows, inviting social areas and lots of straight lines. The salon has a large seating area with an L-shaped sofa on the starboard side and another slightly smaller sofa to port. The dinette is forward.

The flybridge has a two-person helm seat on the port side, a centered upper bar area, and a three-settee dining area with a table aft. All the way aft, three lounges are arrayed to catch the sun.

On the lower accommodations deck, the master stateroom is full beam amidships, with a centered queen-sized berth, a sofa to port and a desk or makeup table to starboard. The second stateroom is almost a mirror version, but a bit forward, while the third stateroom is in the bow with a centered, walkaround bed. All the staterooms have en suite heads.

Specs.: LOA: 74’1”; Beam: 21’6”; Draft: 6’0”; Disp.: 59 tons; Fuel: 1,585 gals.; Water: 290 gals.; Power: 2×425-hp Cummins diesels. Read more:
