Champagne Charter: Dinner for 6, $30,000

There are yacht charters, and then there are yacht charters, but the new Dom Pérignon charter on a Sanlorenzo 88 superyacht in New York’s Hamptons seems in a league of its own.

You can always have a glass, or a bottle, or Dom Pérignon on your own boat, of course. But now, for the first time, you can enjoy a four-hour charter organized by Dom Pérignon on a Sanlorenzo 88 that it has customized for the occasion, for a base price of $30,000.

And you, and up to five of your best friends, can sip lots of DP and enjoy a special dinner from Masa Takayama, chef of the sushi restaurant Masa (with three Michelin stars) on Columbus Circle in Manhattan. The idea is that Chef Masa will create a unique omakase menu for all on board.

But that’s just the start. The menu is paired with three of DP’s best Champagnes: a vintage 2012, a rosé 2008, and a vintage 2003 Plénitude 2. And the meal will be prepared in the yacht’s open-plan galley so everyone can see the chefs in action, if they want.

You can charter the Sanlorenzo from the Sag Harbor Village Marina or Gurney’s Star Island Marina in Montauk. As part of the deal, you’ll get door-to-door chauffeur service from anywhere in the Hamptons in a luxury vehicle. Once on board, you can order your favorite tunes from the charter’s special DJ.

The Sanlorenzo 88 line was first introduced in 2017. It was designed to be a social yacht, with lots of open spaces on the main and aft decks, and a beach club at the water level. The basic yacht has four staterooms below, and cruises at 20 knots, topping out at 25 knots.

If the $30,000 is a bit steep for your dining-out budget, you can try other cruise packages from Dom Pérignon. A caviar and Champagne cruise, for example, starts at just $15,000. Read more:
