CL Yachts just launched the first hull of its new CLB65 family cruiser, its smallest yacht to date, at the Cheoy Lee Shipyard in Zhuhai, China. The new 65 is scheduled for its world debut at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, starting Oct. 26.

CL Yachts, the new luxury brand from Cheoy Lee, is calling the 65 an entry-level cruiser, the smaller sister to the CLB72. It has a basic layout of three staterooms and three heads. Standard power comes from twin 800-hp Volvo IPS1050 pod drives, delivering a top speed of 27 knots.

The 65 was designed by naval architect Howard Apollonio, with the interior by Carmen; they both also worked on the 72. The yacht has a resin-infused, composite hull for a high strength-to-weight radio. Hull number one has electric fin stabilizers and a sophisticated C Zone monitoring system that oversees all boat functions.

The yacht has a large flybridge, with two helm seats on the starboard side, a U-shaped lounge to port and an integrated electric grill and fridge. The foredeck has a three-person settee under the windshield and a large sun pad forward.

Aft, the cockpit has a four-person settee with a large table. The aft galley in the salon is on the same level as the cockpit and serves as a social center. Forward, there’s seating for two at the helm, with a door opening to the starboard side deck. A large U-shaped lounge and table are on the port side.

Below, the full-beam master stateroom is amidships, with a centered king-sized bed, a small desk, settee, walk-in closet and an en suite head with a double vanity and large shower. The VIP cabin is forward, and the third cabin is on the port side with twin beds.
