The new Dale Classic 37, a bulletproof blue-water cruiser, will make its world debut at the Southampton boat show, starting Sept. 16. With its standard power of twin 220-hp Volvo diesels and straight shafts, it has a top speed of 18 knots, and a range of 250 nm.

The new 37 is built by Dale Motor Yachts in Milford Haven, Wales, who have been in business for 60 years and have earned a reputation for creating boats with strong hulls, classic lines, and impeccable joinery. Artisan builders, Dale can customize each boat heavily per the owner’s wishes.

Dale started working on the 37 during the Covid lockdown, with the goal of making a beautiful cruiser with classic lines that would be easy for a couple to handle offshore. It has a large V-berth arrangement below, with the option of another cabin sleeping two more. Or you can order a sliding seat arrangement in the wheelhouse that converts to another double berth. A private head with a shower is below.

The boat has a semi-displacement hull, an almost plumb bow, a sturdy wheelhouse and a raised foredeck. The galley can be up or down. If it’s up, it’s on the starboard side of the wheelhouse and an owner can order a double cabin under the salon. If it’s down, then there’s room for an additional settee on the starboard side of the salon. The galley has a two-burner cooktop, microwave, fridge and storage space.

There are three forward-facing seats in the wheelhouse; two of them are on tracks so they can move forward to create more space at the table behind them.

If you want more power, Dale has options for twin 320-hp Volvos, for a 23-knot top speed, or twin 440-hp Yanmars, for a 28-knot top speed.

LOA: 40’2”; Beam: 12’0”; Draft: 3’8”; Disp.: 20,000 lbs.; Fuel: 300 gals.; Water: 97 gals.; Power: 2×220-hp Volvo diesels. Read more:
