New Sanlorenzo SP110 Turns Heads in Cannes

The stunning new Sanlorenzo SP110 with its open plan and massive two-tier aft deck and beach club is getting a lot of attention at the Cannes Yachting Festival this week.

The SP (for Smart Performance) 110, with its sleek, low, minimalist super-modern look is modeled after the Bluegame, a Sanlorenzo brand, but it takes the open aft deck idea to a new level. The two main decks both open to the aft deck, in effect creating a two-story atrium. Then the transom folds out in several steps to create a huge beach club all the way aft. A Williams jet tender fits inside a garage there, with a cantilevered crane for launching.

On the main deck, the views aft and to the sides are unobstructed through large windows. The deck has formal seating and dining areas, an enclosed galley and a separate wheelhouse forward. A companionway to port leads up to the small helm station and sun bathing area on the cabin top. There’s also a large, private sun lounge on the foredeck.

The exterior design is by Zuccon, and the twin decks aft form an unusual vertical open space. The lower deck is reached aft and its four staterooms open off a central corridor; they all have en suite heads. Crew quarters for three are in the bow, accessed from a curved companionway in the wheelhouse.

The new Sanlorenzo is made in Italy and is laid up with infused sandwich lamination and a lot of carbon fiber. Power comes from three 2,000-hp MAN diesels and jet drives. Solar panels supply enough power to a lithium battery pack to run the house loads at anchor.

Specs.: LOA: 108’5”; Beam: 26’10”; Draft: 4’6”; Disp.: 102 tons; Fuel: 3,170 gals.; Water: 396 gals.; Power: 3/2,000-hp V12 MAN diesels. Read more at http://sanlorenzoyacht.com and see video below:
