Navis Pro 34: A Rugged New Cruiser

The Navis Pro 34 Alpha Cruiser is a new boat from a new company based in Lithuania, and it’s a sturdy vessel meant to tackle the waters of the Baltic, where sea conditions often range from bad to terrible.

Navis Pro was started in 2020 by owners who had spent 40 years in the commercial shipbuilding business and wanted to enter the recreational boating market. The 34 Alpha Cruiser is the result. It was designed by naval architects from Strahlmann Yacht Design in Finland, where the sea conditions also can be fairly gnarly.

The Navis Pro 34 Alpha has an asymmetric main deck, to create more room inside the wheelhouse, and it’s a basic, rugged two-stateroom, one-head cruiser powered by twin 230-hp Yanmar diesels and sterndrives. Top speed is 37 knots, and it has a range of 500 nm when dialed back from that considerably.

The hull has a deep-V aft for offshore performance and the low-profile cruiser has a substantial wheelhouse and a raked windshield meant to shed water. The wheelhouse is offset to the port side, where there’s a narrow side deck. The deck on the starboard is much wider. A door next to the single helm seat opens to the starboard side deck.

In the wheelhouse, a two-person seat is on the port side, opposite the helm. Large side and rear windows provide 360-degree visibility. A cruising galley is aft of the helm, and an L-shaped settee, seating six, and a table are across on the port side. Another six-person settee is on the aft deck. A window opens from the galley to the aft deck so the cook can pass food and drinks to guests seated there.

Below, the master cabin is in the bow, and the guest cabin is a bit aft. They share a head and shower.
