Princess Building Y85 Flagship

Princess Yachts, the upscale British builder, announced that they’re expanding their Y Class range with a new Y85 flagship that will be launched next year.

The all-new, contemporary styled Y85 was a joint product of the naval architect firm Olesinski and the Italian design house Pininfarina. The four-stateroom, flybridge motor yacht is innovative and luxurious, and its deep-v hull will provide a safe, fast ride offshore.

The yacht is powered by twin 1,900-hp MAN V-12 diesels, providing a top speed of about 32 knots.

One of the most intriguing features of the Y85 is the galley, where owners can choose between an open plan or an enclosed plan at the touch of a button. A sliding door and electronic divider over the bar transform the space from open and sociable to intimate and closed. The salon is all on one level, with large windows and seating areas throughout. Two seats are at the helm on the starboard side.

On the large aft deck, owners can choose either a traditional U-shaped dining and lounging area with a central table and standing furniture, or Princess’ “infinity” layout with seating on an electrically controlled sliding mechanism that is designed to create a beach club atmosphere.

Up top, the flybridge has a large sun pad aft, but owners can replace it with a hot tub and free-standing furniture if they want. Two seats face the centered helm; a U-shaped lounge is just aft of it. A tender and crane are options.

Below, the master stateroom is full-beam amidships, with a centered king-sized bed; chairs are on the starboard side, a table to port. The VIP cabin is forward, and the other two cabins are a bit aft; one has a double bed and the other has twin beds. Two crew cabins, and a crew galley, can be ordered aft.

Specs.: LOA: 86’; Beam: 20’8”; Draft: 5’9”; Disp: 146,607 lbs.; Fuel: 2,905 gals.; Water: 396 gals.; Power: 2×1,900-hp MAN V12 diesels. Read more at https://www.princess.co.uk/boat/princess-y85/ and see the video below:
