Fairline will be showing its sporty, prize-wining Targa 45 Open at the Miami show that starts on February 15.

The Targa 45 Open will be at show’s Herald Plaza location, with an outboard-powered Fairline 33 and a Fairline Squadron 50 cruiser. A well-respected British builder, Fairline has grown its dealer network in the U.S. in the past two years.

The Targa 45 Open has won a Motor Boat of the Year Award in its size range. The company says it has a touch of Riviera glamor with its low profile, huge opening sun roof and sun pads available for some serious lounging on the decks fore and aft. To me, the Targa would be just as much at home in Miami or Catalina as it would be in the Med.

The Targa was designed by Alberto Mancini, with studios in Monaco. Mancini often works in the superyacht size range, but he’s also designed some Fairlines for the past six years.

The boat has two seats at the helm, facing Garmin instruments, plus a Volvo joystick for easy maneuvering at low speeds. An L-shaped settee is opposite to port, with a large settee aft facing a high-low table. An upper galley is to starboard, with a grill, fridge, ice-maker and bar.

The huge sun pad aft lifts up to reveal a garage large enough for a 9-foot Williams 280 MiniJet tender. The swim platform lowers hydraulically so you can launch and retrieve it easily.

Below, the master cabin is amidships, with a queen-sized bed and its own head and shower. The second stateroom is forward, and it also can sleep two. It has access to the second head.

The lower galley is on the port side at the foot of the stairs, separating the two cabins. A dinette is to starboard.

Standard power comes from twin 440-hp Volvo IPS600 pod drives, delivering a top speed of 32 knots. Optional 480-hp Volvo IPS650s notch the speed up to 34 knots.

Specs.: LOA: 43’3”; Beam: 14’2”; Draft: 3’8”; Disp.: 27,140 lbs.; Fuel: 343 gals.; Water: 115 gals.; Power: 2×440-hp Volvo IPS600 pod drives. Read more:
