Princess just launched its all-new S72, a sporty, 36-knot, sportbridge cruiser with dynamic lines and neutral tones that take an understated approach to luxury yachting.

A four-stateroom, three-head, British-built cruiser, the S72 has a resin-infused, modified-V hull powered by twin 1,800-hp MAN diesels. Cruising speed is about 30 knots. It also has a crew cabin accessible by lifting a hatch in the transom with two bunks and a head with a shower.

The salon is bright and airy, with full-length windows providing uninterrupted views all around. More light, and fresh air, come in from a large sunroof that’s made possible by the location of the flybridge that’s set well aft.

You can climb on the new Princess via a supersized teak swim platform. You can lower it for access to the water, or to launch and retrieve a tender from the garage, which is large enough to hold a 12’ 8” Williams Sportjet 395 tender.

Four steps up on either side lead to the open cockpit, with a teak deck and a luxurious settee aft that has modular chairs on each side that can be moved anywhere you want them. It faces a teak table with fold-out sides.

A large, glass sliding door opens to the salon. A glass window/partition connects the cockpit bar to the galley, set aft on the starboard side of the salon. An L-shaped dining area is opposite to port, and a U-shaped sofa and coffee table are forward. There’s also a sideboard entertainment center with a pop-up 55” TV. More seating is all the way forward, with a fold-out table. Two seats face the helm on the starboard side.

A private stairway on the port side leads down to the master stateroom, set full-beam amidships; it’s large enough for its own lobby on the lower deck. Another large double cabin is in the bow; it and the master both have home-style heads and showers. Two central twin cabins share access to the day head. All the cabins are bathed in natural light from glazed windows in the hull sides.

Up top, the helm station is on the starboard side and luxurious lounges wrap around the port side. A bar area is aft of the helm.
