Cranchi, the 153-year-old Italian yard, just launched its new 78 flagship, the largest Cranchi yet. The sleek new yacht, designed by Christian Grande of Parma, is powered by three 1,000-hp Volvo IPS1350 pod drives, delivering a top speed of 28 knots and a range of more than 405 nm at 13 knots, and 816 nm at 8.5 knots.

The new Cranchi 78 has four staterooms with en suite heads below, plus two cabins and an en suite head for three crew, accessed via the port side deck.

The teak swim platform runs full beam, and can be fully submerged for water sports or launching the dinghy. The entire transom lifts up to reveal the garage, large enough for a 12’ 7” Williams 385 jet tender, or to serve as a beach club with occasional chairs and tables.

A luxurious sofa stretches across the aft deck; there are also two occasional chairs and a teak table. The glass doors leading to the salon slide open, and a separate door opens on the port side, so that the entire salon seems to blend with the aft deck, all on the same level.

In the salon, a large sofa is on the starboard side, opposite an entertainment center. The dining table, seating eight, is forward, and the galley, behind a sliding door, is just aft of the helm. The galley has a door opening to the teak-covered starboard deck. The helm has two leather seats and a wooden wheel. An L-shaped seating area is on the port side, opposite the helm.

Below, the VIP stateroom is all the way forward, two guest staterooms are in the middle, and the large master is full-beam amidships. It has a walk-in wardrobe, a vanity and dressing area. All the staterooms have en suite heads.

Separate lounges face each other on the foredeck, ready for entertaining or sunbathing. Up top, a large grill is on the port side, with lounges to starboard. The helm is forward on the starboard side with seating to port.
