Dominator Yachts just launched its new Midi Ilumin 35 luxury cruiser at a private event in Montenegro. The new 35 shares the lines – and a lot of the over-the-top superyacht touches – as its big sister, Dominator’s 92-foot Ilumen 28M.

The head-turning 35 has the same no-nonsense reverse angle windshield and sweeping buttresses, glazed bulwarks and carbon-fiber hardtop as the 92-footer. It also has a hand-laid teak deck, polished stainless steel accents, bookmarked gray marble walls, and hand-stitched Nubuc leather in the cabin. On the lower deck, the head on the starboard side is separated by an electrochromic smart glass bulkhead that can be converted from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button, something usually offered only on much larger yachts.

The cockpit is a major social area, with two large sun pads aft and occasional seating. An upper dinette is on the helmdeck, with a barbeque, ice-maker, two fridges, and an adjustable teak table that can seat eight. The wraparound windshield is lower in the center to open and provide access to the large sun pads on the foredeck.

Below, a compact galley is on the port side with a sink, fridge and coffee machine. The main cabin in the bow has a U-shaped sofa that can be converted to a double bed.

Dominator says the Midi Ilumin 35 can be heavily customized; the boat is aimed at buyers who are looking for a luxury sport boat that they can design to their own tastes.

Twin 440-hp Volvos will deliver a top speed of 50 mph. The new 35 has Volvo’s Aquamatic sterndrives so it draws just 27 inches. That low draft allows it to cruise through shallow waters, and also to fit into the garage of many superyachts. The 35 weighs 19,000 pounds, and comes with a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer.

Dominator has its offices in Vaduz, Lichtenstein; its yard is in Trieste, Italy.
