Prestige, the upscale French builder, will hold the global premiere of its new almost-50-foot F4 flybridge yacht at the Cannes Yachting Festival, starting Sept. 12.

The new Prestige comes with some heavy-hitting names. Garroni Design of Genoa, which has worked on everything from cruise liners to superyachts, did the lines, while Michael Peters, the Sarasota-based naval architect who has worked on everything from Hinckleys to race boats, did the hull.

Powered by twin 480-hp Volvo IPS650 pod drives, the new F4 is expected to cruise comfortably and efficiently in the 22-knot range, and top out at 27 knots.

Prestige says the F4 marks the renewal of its F line, offering more comfort and an exceptional level of fit and finish. It has fluid lines, soft curves and polished surfaces, with new materials for the interior, including natural stone, sculpted woodwork and wicker.

All the way aft, twin staircases lead up from the hydraulic swim platform to the aft deck, where freestanding furniture can be arranged in a conventional L-shape or fore-to-aft so all the guests can enjoy the side views.

Instead of traditional sliding doors leading from the aft deck to the salon, the new Prestige has a single hinged glass door on the starboard side and a large opening window above the aft galley to port. There’s also a full-height sliding window/door on the starboard side of the salon opening to the side deck, so guests can reach the sun pads on  the fore deck without having to walk all the way aft past the galley.

The flybridge features large seating and sun bathing areas next to the upper helm on the port side. A wet bar is a bit aft, leading to a large dinette area.

Below, the master cabin is set forward and few steps down from the salon in what Prestige calls “a semi-main deck master suite,” with lots of privacy and natural light and an en suite head and shower. A large cabin with a double bed is aft to starboard, and a smaller one with a twin bed is to port; they share a head and shower off the lower lobby.
