New Inflatable 5 mph GoBoat 2.0

For just plain fun, take a look at the inflatable GoBoat 2.0. You won’t want to take it to Bermuda, but if you just want to cruise around your local lake or harbor it would fill the bill. And when you’re done, just deflate it and stow it in your lazarette or the trunk of your car.

The company says the GoBoat 2.0 (an improvement over the original model) is safe, stable and easy to pack. You inflate it with a hand pump and then climb on. It’s made with GoBoat’s proprietary AirCore composite construction with three separate air chambers.

The design is circular; you can just bounce off a dock or the mother ship, or another GoBoat for that matter. It has a non-slip deck, storage bungees, and slots in the side rails for accessories. If you want, you can detach the seat and use it as a chair on the beach.

The GoBoat weighs 57 pounds so it’s easy to carry. It comes with a 35-pound, five-speed electric trolling motor that produces a top speed of 5 mph. There’s an aluminum compartment nn the transom for two batteries; the company says any 12V U1 sealed battery will do (you have to buy the batteries separately).

There are six models of the GoBoat 2.0, ranging from the Stealth, for $1,175, that’s 70 inches in diameter, to the Mini Vector, for $683, that’s made for children and is 55 inches in diameter. The larger boat can carry a total of 600 pounds, including a 300-pound person.
