First Look: Outer Reef Launches 830 MY

Outer Reef just launched the first of its new 830 Classic Motoryacht series and is now shipping it from the factory in Taiwan to a young American couple who previously owned an Outer Reef 700 Classic.

Wanting more room for entertaining, the new owners moved up in size, but were loyal to Outer Reef for its combination of craftsmanship, luxury and long-range cruising performance. Outer Reef has been building on its cruising pedigree lately. Two Outer Reef yachts have gone around Cape Horn, one with the company president, Jeff Druek, on board.

The new 830 has a clean and contemporary interior with a stunning walnut-veneer interior with a blend of grain directions in the salon. A  U-shaped sofa is aft, serving as a social center; an epoxy river-style dining table seating six is forward a bit, offering panoramic views from the large side windows.

The galley/pilothouse layout includes full-sized appliances; a galley island has a waterfall-edge design and barstools for seating.

The interior of the 830 is unique in that it has a crew or fourth stateroom area for flexible accommodations. A dedicated laundry room comes with an option to convert it to a bunk room for a fourth stateroom forward.

Power comes from twin 1,800 CAT diesels, with a top seed of 23 knots.

We don’t have other details of the new 830 yet. If you want to learn more pre-release information about the new series, contact https://www.outerreefyachts.com/contact and see  the video below:
