The new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht from the Australian builder Maritimo will make its U.S. debut at the Fort Lauderdale show, starting Nov. 25.

With its creative use of space aft – including an upper cockpit, adventure deck and enormous swim platform – and a large fully enclosed skylounge up top, the new M60 is bound to generate a lot of attention. And it comes with Maritimo’s well-earned reputation for seakeeping abilities, cruising comfort, and craftsmanship.

“This new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht pays homage to Maritimo’s heritage, tracing its lineage back to the very first motor yacht we crafted two decades ago,” said Tom Barry-Cotter, Maritimo’s managing director.

The 60 has a completely new deck and flybridge, where outer “wings” provide more volume inside while providing protection for the side decks below. The climate-controlled flybridge/skylounge has a forward cruising lounge area and an aft TV lounge that can be converted to an additional sleeping area during long cruises. The bifold doors aft open to more outdoor space that’s protected by a rear awning from the hardtop and optional roll-down partitions. You reach the flybridge via an internal staircase.

Maritimo says its owners spend much of their time at anchor on the aft deck, so the new M60 has an unusual amount of space there. A single step from the upper cockpit leads to the adventure deck with an entertainment module including a grill, sink, and large, top-loading fridge.

Press a button and the adventure deck lifts up to reveal a garage lazarette. The garage is large enough to hold a 9’ 2” Williams MiniJet tender, or lots of toys and cruising supplies.

The aft galley connects the salon and the upper cockpit, providing indoor and outdoor dining areas. Forward, an open atrium companionway (with a washer/dryer) provides lots of natural light to the accommodations deck, with a three-stateroom, two-head layout. The forward stateroom has an offset queen bed with an en suite head and shower. A smaller cabin on the starboard side has twin single beds, while the master, with a king-sized bed and panoramic windows, is full-beam amidships.

The new M60 comes with Maritimo’s well-tested variable-deadrise hull, with a sharp bow entry that progressively flattens aft for cruising comfort and stability. Standard  power comes from twin 800-hp Volvo D13s. Upgrades are 1,000-hp Volvos or 1,150-hp Scania diesels. They all use straight-shaft drives with a super-efficient 8-degree shaft angle.

Specs.: LOA: 61’10”; Beam: 17’2”; Draft: 5’; Disp.: 74,075 lbs.; Fuel: 1,200 gals.; Water: 198 gals.; Power: 2×800-hp Volvo D13s.
