CL Yachts just announced that they’re building a luxurious new CLB80 cruiser with a contemporary look and lots of choices for new owners.

The interior and exterior of the new CLB80 were designed by Jozeph Forakis, a multi-talented, award-winning designer with offices in Milan and New York, who’s done other CL Yachts, as well as everything from high-tech watches to modular office partitions. His charge for the CLB80 was to preserve the brand’s DNA while creating a more streamlined and sporty look. The idea was to enhance onboard comfort, rather than raw performance.

In announcing the new yacht at the Fort Lauderdale show, Forakis said it offers “easy, accessible luxury.” For his part, Martin Lo, director of Cheoy Lee (CL Yachts’ parent company), said the CLB80 will deliver safe cruising experiences. “You want something reliable,” he said, “you want to hop in and get going with peace of mind.”

The layout options include a choice of a forward or aft galley on the main deck, as well as single or double helm stations (one on the main deck and the other on the sky deck).

The interior is marked by the use of modular pods, fluted oak panels and glossy marble accents. The salon has extensive electric up-down windows and an open staircase with floating stairs so they don‘t block any light. If the galley is aft, it acts as a bridge between the interior and exterior; an aft window lowers to help unite the two areas. One creative feature: When it’s not being used, the dining table slides away and fits against the galley counter, opening space in the salon while adding to countertop space in the galley.

All the way aft, the CLB80 has a beach club that’s also a versatile space built into the transom. It can have sun lounges and a small galley for light refreshments, even a TV. A high-low table can be used for dining, or as a bed for lounging.

The front half of the upper sky deck can house the upper helm as well as a barbeque and bar. The aft half is open and has room for a crane and tender.

Below, the CLB80 has four staterooms, all with en suite heads. The master is set full-beam amidships; the VIP is forward, and two additional guest cabins are in the midship area. Two crew cabins are aft, between the engine room and the beach club.
