New Bluegame BGX63: Prize-Winning Cruiser

The Bluegame BGXC63 is anything but one more luxurious, high-style Italian-made motoryacht. Indeed, its looks set it apart at the first glance, with low dark wraparound windows, an almost-military-looking, highly raked front windshield, and the hint of a slash of dark glazing along the hull sides running aft.

A closer look reveals a creative two-tier design that opens up the salon and aft deck with so much glass that the interior and exterior tend to blend together. And below, the centrally located master stateroom is so big that it has its own private sitting area that can serve as another cabin.

A brand of Sanlorenzo Yachts since 2018, Bluegame has already won prizes for the BGX63. It was named “the most avant-garde yacht” at the Cannes show, and “motoryacht of the year” in its size range at the Düsseldorf show. It’s now being sold in the U.S.

On the main deck, the two-person helm seat is centered, with clear views all around. An L-shaped sofa and dining table are aft, on the port side; the galley is to starboard. Stairs lead down to the master stateroom for privacy.

Glass doors open to an upper aft deck with a sitting area; glass bulkheads aft provide views that reach to the horizon. The lower cockpit is filled with sun pads and lounges; it’s protected by an overhang from the upper deck, which has glass cutouts to provide even more light. All the way aft, the transom is open, creating a large beach club with immediate access to the water.

The foredeck also seems on two levels, protected by the Bluegame’s high bow. An upper sunning area has tables and sun lounges, while a bow sun lounge stretches from one side to the other.

Below, the standard layout has two staterooms and two heads, with the VIP stateroom forward. A small crew quarter, with its own head, is in the bow. Owners can order the boat with three staterooms and three heads if they prefer.

Standard power comes from twin 800-hp Volvo IPS1050 pod drives, producing a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots. The boat has a 9.5-degree deadrise aft for stability and a comfortable ride.
