Cantiere del Pardo, the large Italian builder, just announced at the Düsseldorf show that it’s planning a new Pardo GT65 cruiser with a walkaround deck, flexible layout, and Volvo IPS power. The 65 will be the third model in Pardo’s GT series, falling between the existing 52 and the 75 that’s coming later this year.

The new GT65 will carry all of Pardo’s signature lines, with its reverse bow and low profile. It has wraparound glazing, a folding aft window in the salon that opens to the cockpit, a sliding glass sun roof in the salon, and large windows and retractable doors that offer panoramic views of the ocean outside.

A new transom garage with a folding door is large enough for a ten-foot tender, while an outdoor lounge on the foredeck has a large transforming forward-facing sofa that also can be a sun lounge.

Pardo is offering two layouts below for the GT65. In the standard layout, the galley is on the main deck, facing lounge seating, freeing up room below for two guest cabins with and a large owner’s cabin forward with a transverse double bed. All the cabins have en suite heads and showers. There’s also a crew cabin with its own entrance forward of the engine room.

In the other option, the galley is down, making space for a larger salon but resulting in a smaller owner’s cabin with a V-berth below.

Power for the GT65 comes from twin 1,000-hp Volvo IPS1350 pod drives, with fingertip control over the joystick at the helm for easy maneuvering around a dock.

Cantiere del Pardo was founded in 1973, and it has made more than 4,000 sailboats under  the Grand Soleil brand. It started Pardo Yachts in 2016 to enter the powerboat market; it now makes Van Dutch powerboats as well. The yard is in Forli, near Bologna. Last August, the Calzedonia Group, a fashion house, bought 60 percent of the company.

Specs.: LOA: 64’6”; Beam: 19’; Draft: NA; Disp.: 83,775 lbs.; Fuel: 845 gals.; Water: 291 gals.; Power: 2×1,000-hp Volvo IPS1350 pod drives.
