First WiLder 60 Launches in Italy

WiLder, the new brand from Wider Yachts, just launched its first hull, a 60, in Italy. Wider says the new WiLder, a semi-custom cruiser, is designed “to appeal to the wilder side in us all.”

Wider usually builds superyachts. The idea behind WiLder is to bring superyacht-quality fit and finish and construction to a wider market with a 60-foot yacht. In the new 60, the hull is all aluminum, and all the amenities are indeed what you’d usually find in much larger vessels.

The new boat “represents a leap forward in what a 60-footer can offer and how it can be built,” said Marcello Maggi, head of the holding company that owns Wider. “Everything about the WiLder 60 is extraordinary, from her 40-knot performance to her totally custom layout and finish.”

Hull number one was built for a European owner and the interior includes luxurious leathers and glossy finishes. “The sumptuous and sensual textiles and textures hint at elegant debauchery, the very essence of the WiLder 60’s raison d’etre,” the company says.

That may be a bit over the top, or the loss of something in translation, but the WiLder does have a party deck forward, a social deck aft with massive sun pads and an al fresco dining area, and a starboard-side helm protected by a thin hardtop.

Below, the 60 has two twin guest suites amidships  plus the owner’s cabin forward with a centerline double bed. A lower salon and galley are between the cabins.

Power comes from twin 1,300-hp MAN diesels producing a 35-knot cruise, a 40-knot top speed, and a range of 325 nm.

Wider made the first WiLder 60 at its factory in Fano. It will make future models in its factory in Venice.

LOA: 62’3”; Beam: 17’10”; Draft: 3’5”; Disp.: 33 tons; Fuel: 725 gals.; Water: 250 gals.; Power: 2x 1,300-hp MAN diesels.
