Sialia just unveiled what it calls “the world’s most advanced explorer yacht,” a Sialia 80 Explorer electric long-range cruiser.

The new Sialia was designed by Vripack, the leading Dutch design and naval architectural firm. The hull was drawn specifically for electric power, offering low resistance and sophisticated balance for the high-tech vessel.

Sialia says the all-aluminum 80 offers silent, emissions-free cruising around the world, combining the luxury and comfort of a superyacht with the sustainability of electric power. “The Sialia 80 Explorer is designed to redefine exploration and sustainability; to thrive in a variety of environmental conditions, traveling to some of the world’s most remote locations in silence and with minimal environmental impact,” says Stanislav Szadkowski, co-founder and CEO of Sialia Yachts.

Power comes from two 400 kW Ampros electric motors, producing a top speed of more than 11 knots and a range of 3,000 nm at 6 knots. The yacht has an 800-kWh battery pack with two variable-RPM range extenders.

It uses a state-of-the-art Ampros propulsion system designed for high-end electric yachts. Ampros is a Polish company that delivers electric and hybrid marine propulsion systems that include diesel or H2 range extenders. It’s a modular system coordinating all the core components – batteries, cooling systems, motors and advanced software – to provide maximum storage capacity, cooling, safety and fast-charging capability. The Sialia 80 is also fitted with chargers that accept a range of power connections so it can charge in any situation.

The Sialia 80 can hold 12 people in four guest and two crew cabins. The layout is unusual; the master stateroom is aft (since there’s no worry about noise from the engines) with direct access to the beach club and the water.

The open main deck has several levels, and the new explorer has exterior glazing in a unique diamond pattern. Expansive windows (without mullions) provide views in every direction. The 80 Explorer has an LOA of 87′ 7″ and a beam of 27′ 8″.

Sialia Yachts was founded by a multi-national European team of yacht designers and engineers in 2017. Sialia means bluebird; it’s meant to show an alignment with nature.
