Aquador Launches 250 HT Pocket Cruiser

Aquador has launched a new 250 HT (for hard top) pocket cruiser that offers almost all-weather protection for a couple or small family and is powered by a single 250-hp Mercury outboard.

The 250 HT is the latest in the Finnish builder’s “next generation” of boats, following the successful reception of its 300 HT. A 380 HT is coming later in the year.

The 250 has a relatively low profile and a wide internal helm deck that stretches out almost full beam. The Eco Teak side decks are fairly narrow as a result, but they have high stainless steel railings for safety. All the way forward, a large sun pad starts just under the slanted windshield and stretches to the bow.

Aft, the swim platform is large, with the outboard centered. The cockpit itself is a deep and wide space and is designed to be used by a family. An L-shaped dinette is on the port side with a wet bar to starboard.

The helm station is forward in the salon with three-forward facing seats. Skylights and large side windows let in a lot of natural light. The small galley has pressure cold water, a one-burner cooktop and a fridge.

The aft part of the hard top extends over the cockpit for weather protection, but it has two opening sun roofs to open on good days. On bad days, you can close off the entire aft part of the boat using a canopy that folds out of upright lockers in the cockpit.

Below, the forward cabin takes advantage of the deep hull to create extra space. A berth there sleeps two adults, and a head and shower compartment is on the port side.

A compact fore-and-aft cabin is aft a bit and could sleep one or two people.

Top speed with the single 250-hp Mercury V-8 outboard is 38 knots. A bow thruster is standard.

Aquador is part of Sweden’s Nimbus Group, and is in the U.S. as part of the PowerTime boat club. Nimbus bought Florida’s Edgewater Boats last March.

Specs.: LOA: 25’6”; Beam: 8’6”; Draft: NA; Disp.: 6,173 lbs.; Fuel: 64 gals.; Water: 9 gals.; Power: 1×250-hp Mercury V 8 outboard.
