Maritimo, the Australian builder that’s celebrating its 20th anniversary, just announced that its launching a new Black Edition series of refinements and upgrades across its 55, 60 and 600 series of luxury motor yachts.

The changes start with Maritimo’s already spacious open cockpits that connect to full cruising galleys inside the salon. The new Black Edition includes a redesigned larger transom island that separates the swim platform from the cockpit. The Black Edition has an upgraded lounge and barbeque area and a new forward-facing cockpit lounge. There’s  also a new door to access the lazarette, next to the built-in fridge, barbeque and sink.

The upper cockpit area will have more space, with several alternative layouts, including L-shaped seating, a folding table and wet bar with a fridge and ice-maker. The door leading to the salon and aft galley is either sliding or bi-fold, depending on the seating arrangement.

The aft galley will have more counter space and a larger bench seat. The upright fridge/freezer is rearranged, and a large overhead cupboard has been added. There’s also a new option for a wine fridge in the island bench or under the stairs on the port side of the galley.

Up top, the enclosed flybridge has a new low-profile dash, more ergonomic controls, and upgraded fully electric helm seats. There’s also a new wet bar, plus a lounge seat and storage.

On the foredeck, the sun pads are larger with adjustable backrests, and there’s a new forward-facing bow lounge for relaxing or sun bathing. On some models, this area can be used for storing the tender, with a davit and removeable chocks.

Maritimo will unveil the Black Edition at the Sanctuary Cove show in Australia in May, and in the U.S. at the Fort Lauderdale show in October.
