Zodiac Launches 32-Foot Hybrid Flagship

Zodiac has just launched a new 32-foot X10CC, the largest its ever built. It’s something of a hybrid, designed to combine the advantages of a conventional RIB with those of a fiberglass center console.

The X10CC (Center Console) represents three years of R&D from the French builder, once a worldwide force in the RIB universe. It has high freeboard (something missing from most RIBs) with a rigid hull surrounded by tubes that offer both protection and floatation.

Zodiac said it listened to RIB owners and potential owners, and realized that the market was changing. “They’re looking for bigger and bigger boats with more habitability but also excellent performance and lower fuel consumption,” said Fanny Revert-Ciavattani, Zodiac’s marketing chief.

Standard power comes from twin 300-hp Mercury outboards. Optional 400-hp Mercury outboards produce a top speed of 60 knots with seven people on board, according to Zodiac. The outer tube helps provide stability, particularly while cornering, as well as protecting against bumps while docking or working with a mothership.

The new X10CC can hold a total of 20 people. Moving around the boat is easy because of its center console layout. It also has a cabin with a berth, a sliding door and three windows (two that open) below, plus a separate head.

There are also the amenities found in most 32-foot center consoles, including a galley, fridge and lots of storage space, protected by a hardtop with lights overhead. The outboards come with a joystick; a bow thruster is optional.

For specs, the boat is 32’ 7” long with a 12’ 4” beam. It weighs 7,716 pounds, and holds 200 gallons of fuel.

Zodiac is shipping the X10CC to European dealers now; they will start shipping to the U.S. in January.
